"How do we get across?" I asked Father.
" I do not know" my father said sadly.
The ditch was about 500 feet deep and about 200 feet across. I know this because I flew around it and inside it. At the bottom was lava. We couldn't go around it because there was no land to go across it. I couldn't fly them across cause I wasn't strong enough to carry them. Then I had a idea. I used water and shot gallons of water to the bottom of the ditch. I did this over and over again. I made a shield of water around me. It was shaped like a sphere and it was made so only living things could go inside so my family could go inside but the lava would not hurt them.
"Come in just walk right through" I said.
"I'd rather not get wet" my Mother said.
I stopped using my powers and said, "Okay". I stood next to them and formed the shield again. You could not get wet from the inside. "okay" My voice echeoed this time. It sounded wierd "I am going to fly so don't freak out and don't faint beacause I have to concentrate". I flew up the shield still around us. Ella and Joe gasped but I didn't pay attention. The sphere of water was strong and was able to hold us. I flew it down slowly so it wouldn't go fast. It was hard to. I had to keep the sphere of water around us and fly at the same time. I couldn't go to fast and I had to keep adding water to the sphere because the water was evaporating. It was a long 500 feet down. I thought my mother would faint by the look on her face. We finally reached the lava. The sphere went smoothly on the lava. Lava wouldn't hurt the water. I used the sphere as a boat sort of. I had a water rope from one end of the ditch to the other. I could not think of any thing else other than getting safely to the top of the ditch. The rope went right through the sphere and I had to pull the sphere all the way across. I was thirsty so I made a cup of water appear out of thin air. It immediately went to my lips and I drunk it still pulling the rope. The cup was made from water so I drunk that also. I am half way there I told myself. I kept trying to encourage my self. Almost there. Then I was to the other side of the ditch.
I was sweating. I hadn't thought until then that it was hot down there! I got cold water and splashed it on my forehead. I was now flying the sphere up the ditch to the other side. Could I make it? I was asking myself. YES I CAN! I answered myself. I thought this in my mind not out loud. I was sweating like crazy when we reached the top. I then relized that Mother was crying. Not of sadness but of happiness.
"I am so proud of you!" My Mother said. I was not expecting that. She hugged me very tight and I hugged her back.
I drenched myself with water to rinse of the sweat. "Please do that to me too!" Ella said sweating.
"I'm after Ella!" Joe said excitedly.
I drenched them with water and they loved it. We laughed so hard. That was one of the only happy times on our journey.
